tPackBuilder is a relatively new modding project that hit the ground running immediately upon its release. Terraria modding is all done entirely via C# - no GUI, no leniency, only code. This has its advantages, but one of the disadvantages is that it cuts off mod-making accessibility to a large portion of the community. This is where tPackBuilder comes in.
Using this API, users can create their own modpacks, referencing, modifying, adding and removing content all via extremely simple and easy to use JSON files. The mod has barely been out for a few months, and already there has been a flood of people giving feedback, suggestions, feature requests, and more within the API's help channels.
This tool was released as part of an upcoming project titled the "Bereft Souls." This is also the first paid modding team I've become a part of. For more info, check out this video from Brome, the organizer for this project who commissioned myself and a number of others to work on the project. You can already see that even since the video's release, a number of features have been added and bugs been squashed!
You may notice that the title for this mod is now listed as deprecated. This is not because the mod was discontinued - rather, it is because it grew a large enough following to garner merging its content into the official Calamity Mod!
The Calamity Interludes In-Game mod was originally created as a way to add the "Calamity Interludes" - a set of music tracks that were not originally included in the Calamity Mod - into the game. Each of these songs would play after certain bosses were defeated for the first time, and then never again (although they could be recorded with music boxes).
The mod has had over 214,000 unique players across its lifespan, and peaked at over 150,000 active subscribers. The Calamity Mod Team loved the mod's idea and asked me if I would be comfortable merging its content into the base Calamity Mod, to which I happily agreed. You can view an announcement on Twitter/X from the official Calamity account regarding the subject here.
This was my first ever mod project - when I was initially getting into modded Terraria, I enjoyed challenging myself, and joined a community of others that did as well. After learning how to program, I decided to give back to the community in the form of my very own mod that would cut out the unnecessary, repetitive, and boring aspects of game challenges.
Eventually, however, this mod grew far beyond its original scope. It now has over 39,000 active players, and provides a variety of quality-of-life enhancements, performance improvements, and general experience boosting configurations. 100% of the mod's content is configurable, so players are able to pick and choose precisely which features they actually want to use.
The mod is also semi-officially endorsed by the Calamity Mod, and has its own section on the Calamity Mod Wiki.
